Reading reports of the dire situation in the prison I was in... She's gonna blow, the troops are beyond boiling...
Did you know these persons and was their characters and interactions solid and respected by the prison community?
I done 20 days in solaritary with no exercise, phonecalls or recreation due to covid fear... I seen many assaults on screws, and listened daily to the worst types of abuse by those filthy bastards! I seen my mate hanging by a rag on wednesday, he didn't make it yet it doesn't make the news! The troops are gonna fuckin explode in there, it's heartbreaking really
The prison complex isn't fair.
I worked with the Amish in my teens and thought up till then that they just just shunned people and had no contact, but that wasn't the case.
They gave ultimatums... either abide or piss off. There was no shunning. It wasn't a one way convo that we were led to believe in movies was a catastrophic situation.
That shit hardly happened ever. Everyone had a choice... and families welcomed back their wayward souls...without malice.
I hate prison systems.
They don't teach anyone anything else... they reinforce that shit.
Far better to shun criminals to some place for a predetermined time like a region or island, and give them a flint, pot, and blanket while they either work out their demons or die.
I get that you did virtually nothing wrong in your scenario, but which would you prefer? A 4 month prison sentence or 4 months of ostracism?
You'd be better mentally, I think, with the pot, blanket, and flint....
