I don't smoke fags....
I'm going to presume either you are lying, or you don't know that "fag(s)" is a slang term for cigarette(s).

The term "fag" for a cigarette is a British and Australian slang term that likely originated in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is derived from the term "fag" meaning to exhaust or tire, possibly referring to a cigarette as a "bundle" or as a way to relieve fatigue, distinct from the American homophobic slur.

  • Origin: The term "fag" likely arose from British slang in the late 1800s, often referring to a cigarette as a "fag-end" or simply a "fag".
  • Context: It is commonly used in the UK and Australia to refer to a cigarette, and also appears in phrases like "fag packet".
  • Etymology:Some theories suggest it is related to the idea of a cigarette being a "fag" or a bundle of tobacco, or it may stem from the slang term "fag," which means a tedious task or to exhaust someone

I like to use cubed up old lamb roast in a hash (Bubble and Squeak variation) with old roasted veggies, a fresh onion, garlic, diced brussel sprouts, stock cubes, apple cider vinegar, fresh herbs like marjoram and the like, and thick cut streaky bacon diced roughly, thickened in roast juices and flour, layed over a baked potato or mash.

It's how I introduced Brussel sprouts to my toddlers, and now they crave it/ask me to make it years later.

But the problem is that old roast and veggies don't last long in my fridges... day later, it's all virtually picked clean and eaten cold by the various bandits. Hash was meant to be a leftovers dish.

My daughter bought all the ingredients and made a fantastic seafood boil. Can't wait to have leftovers for lunch. Grandson was hilarious with the shrimp. Love that little shit.

n the context of a UK public school boy (meaning one attending an elite, traditional British independent boarding school such as Eton, Harrow, Winchester, Rugby, etc.), the word "fag" refers to a younger pupil (typically a first- or second-year boy, often aged 13–15) who was required to act as a personal servant or errand-runner for an older boy (usually a prefect or sixth-former, the "fag-master").This was part of the historical fagging system, which was widespread in British public schools from at least the 16th–17th centuries until it was gradually phased out between the 1960s and 1980s (and fully obsolete by the late 20th century due to changing attitudes, child protection laws, and reforms).Typical duties of a "fag" included menial tasks such as:
  • Cleaning boots/shoes
  • Brushing clothes
  • Making tea or toast
  • Running errands (fetching items, posting letters, waking the senior boy)
  • Tidying the study or dorm
  • Performing other small services on demand
The system was officially sanctioned by the schools as a way of maintaining internal discipline and hierarchy among the boys themselves (with senior boys given authority by the headmaster/prefects). The fag-master was theoretically meant to act as a protector of "his" fags, looking after their welfare and shielding them from excessive bullying by others. While the term "fag" in this sense derives from older meanings of tiring/wearying labour (and has no original connection to modern American usage as a slur for a homosexual man), the power imbalance sometimes led to abuse or exploitation in practice.
