When you attack the United States of America, like was done at Ft. Sumter, you have declared war.

But, Fort Sumter was in Southern territory when the firing happened. Federals were allowed to peacefully leave all Southern forts. But the ones at Sumter, stayed as ordered. Lincoln provoked the attack, by sending in ships on purpose to provoke. Thus the attack began.

The South never declared war on the Union. It was not trying to conquest another nation.

My sister married a man that is part Puerto Rican, as had my brother married a Puerto Rican woman before that.

My grandmother called me and said "I heard your sister is marrying a black man."

I agree we need to move on from all wars. However, I believe we should view them accurately. Romanticizing the wars is inaccurate at best and furthers the idea of wars being righteous to begin with. They're not.
