. I'm watching Hitchcock's "Sabotage" (1936) last night and there is a brief movie theater scene in which the audience is watching Who Killed Cock Robin in cartoon. After watching an thinking "who is Cock Robin", I turn on Midsomer Murders and the episode is...you guessed it, "Who Killed Cock Robin". I love shit like that.
. So, who did kill Cock Robin?
Turns out it was the sparrow, but not Jack Sparrow, who was based on an actual Med Pirate, Jack Ward who was known as The Sparrow.
Sadly, he converted to muslim so he'd be more acceptable and trusted in the north of Africa (Barbary Coast).
So sad when good pirates go bad.

. Yesterday, on my way out for a hike, my nice neighbor was out tending to some plants she keeps outside. She has these goldfish succulents on a three hook shepard's staff with a bird feeder on top. She was dismay'd and aghast to find so many shoots broken off each plant which she attributed to a local squirrel who likes to raid the feeder. I said, yeah I don't know many gardeners who fancy them....bushy tailed rats they say...but quietly I thought to myself, everything gotta eat.
