Don you remember a movie called the Legend of Billie Jean? Pat Benatar did the sound track....it was mid 80s, Helen Slater?
My brain puked that movie up out of nowhere a few days ago and I had forgot all about it. I hadnt thought of it since childhood.
So I watched it lol. My daughter and I do old 80s movies nights.

Those days are over, H lol. Are you still able to rent movies where you are?! Every video rental place here shut down long ago.
We just stream movies now. Or find them on YouTube and watch the on the TV screen.

You can find good old/classic movies released under 'The Criterion Collection' umbrella at least as physical disks. Dunno about digital versions.

We have been watching all the silly ones. Seeing these movies through adult eyes is wild
We watched Mannequin (Kim Catrell), Short Circut (started a whole conversation about AI becoming sentient). Whose that Girl (Madonna). Crocodile Dundee.
Just mostly silly comedies. Purple Rain is on the list but Squish isnt old enough for that one.
Of course The Goonies. She Devil. Serial Mom (which my kids have already seen and loved lol)

We had one "independent" one with a massive porn section were we always saw the SAME dude just browsing LOL. I would get my friend to walk past the entry to the porn area and id push her in lol.
Thinking back on how people would just go rent porn is wild lol.

I saw that movie at the Lake Street Theater in Oak Park, Illinois when it first came out. You could see a movie back then for 50¢. No lie. That was the first time I ever saw tits on a screen.That was the last video I ever bought from Blockbuster before they went outta business @Dove

We were watching the National Lampoons Christmas vacation last Christmas. A hilarious classic. And I suddenly realized what an unbelievable asshole Clark Griswald truly is lol.
Openly lusting and making an ass of hinself over other women right in front of his wife and kids.
And other reasons lol. Still a funny movie but UHG.

I miss my grandma sooo much. My dad was there too, but Grandma tried to raise me more than he did, not his fault. She taught me everything but gaming and reading comics. Trying to sum everything up in a neat little paragraph will never happen.
Anyway, grandma is the reason I did ok as a mom and even better as a Mimi.
I honestly don't know how my dad got with my..... "mother".

I mentioned video stores to put you in an 80s mood.
.Where I am we had one all the way up to the early ots then they were no more.
In any case, having thought of Toxie and Sara (what a lovely and loving couple) I found the movie on tubi.
It holds up pretty well if you like tits and campy violence...not to mention a happy ending.
Check it out.
PS: Also, in watching the movie I was thinking how much Quint might have been influence by Troma Entertainment

Back in the 80s and first quarter of the 90s, I had to sneak to watch movies. My grandma was Pentecostal and strict. I even attended a private, Pentecostal school.
I got caught with a Weird Al cassette tape.....WEIRD AL, and was disciplined for having "worldly music". They literally called my grandma over it. The pastor listened to "Eat it" and called it "filth".
So that should tell you a lot about my childhood lol. I had a front row seat to the satanic panic.
I still enjoyed all the same songs and videos and movies...I just had to enjoy them secretly lol. Id sneak and watch all the bad devil stuff after grandma went to sleep.
I snuck into the living room when I was about ....7 or 8....and watched Return of the Living Dead. Fucked me right up. And i had to hide my trauma so I didnt get switched and prayed over.
It did eventually make me a horror fan.

I once snuck out of bed to watch a Dracula movie in the living room. I had to keep the volume low so I was already sitting on the front edge of the sofa watching the movie.
My brother's bedroom was on the other side of the wall behind me so when he rolled over in his sleep and kicked the wall on his side I nearly jumped out of my skin and landed halfway across the living room. I went to his room, punched him on the shoulder a couple times, and cursed at him before going back to finish watching the movie.
