Obviously Woodstock was an incrediby important event but to even suggest it was 'Organized' is fuckin hilarious.
Every examination of the event paints it like a natural disaster of huge proportions.
11/10 for its place in rock history. 1/10 for having working bogs and medical care for those in need.
One thing though. It was a defining moment saying that the dirty, smelly hippies actually were a caring bunch who beleived in their values.
Without the voluntary care given by so many at that event (who would probably preffered to be tripping balls) who cared for those in need, there could have been more deaths and a dangerous environment festering.

Saying a fact about Woodstock is not the same as whining. I'm totally fine with this. Back then, people were NOT all about squashing the liberty and freedom of other people.
They all knew and decided what risks they wanted to take for themselves.
I applaud them.
Today the left would be echoing the establishment painting them as stupid, anti science, selfish, conspiracy theorist.....you name it. They would all be "teh right". Killing grannies and having selfish freedums.

If Draconian measures weren't already in place you can bet your bottom dollar the present governments would use it to stop a music event of such proportians.
None of us can remember that long ago but I've been reliably informed that this sub culture was still deeply frowned upon and treated with disdain.
The 60's are great through rose coloured glasses but I'm happy I didn't live them as an adult.
No. I think I landed just right being able to watch the moon landing and living through such turbulent, radical and exciting times. The Information Revolution has been far more important than the Industrial Revolution and due to it being so fast people like myself have been able to take part and influence the entire event.
The only bad things are (1) It took two World Wars and many millions of lives lost to give us this technology and (2) It's all coming to a flat out where the population is so sated they don't have the will or the competence to fight for their beliefs anymore.
Sad really. Shit could have been so rad (yes I said Rad) but it's like a sparkler going out after fiercely popping and crackling it fades and dies. Sure you've still got the sparkler but only now it's just a red hot stick.
