So, the "missing woman" Gabby Petito's death has been declared homicide.

I have some thoughts. Beyond her boyfriend being an abuser, and her having become yet another victim of domestic violence, I think there is also an issue here with the internet. These two were trying to build a youtube channel based on their travels. I think the project, and their desire to make money from it, could also have been a factor in Petito's failure to seek help and get the fuck away from the homicidal monster when the cops were with her and she could have easily done so. She was driven, perhaps, by not only the desire to make her relationship work, and thus deny his abuse, but also the desire to be yet another youtube "star." It's all pretty fucking tragic.

I hope they find her murdering boyfriend and that he is tortured in prison when he goes.

As an educated woman well versed in law who isn’t comepletly reliant on “the man’s” generosity to support me… I understand why 2 female recent law school graduates took on a case like Roe v Wade ~ a case that has held steadfast and recently struck down several Texas laws criminalizing abortion.

Oppressed people will not remain oppressed forever. The yearning for freedom eventually manifests itself as we have all seen with the Antifa riots.

Trump brought this nation to its knees… not in prayer, but in abject misery, loss and defeat. He is quite literally the worst President we have ever seen. It’s a fact that women experience social inequalities relative to men in most societies… you’ve been complaining that a story of a blonde white woman gone missing has plagued the media and yet simultaneously argue that racism does not exist… social scientists refer to this obsession as missing white woman syndrome.

Hype implies that it’s exaggerated in importance…. I’ll remind you now that the country was almost burnt to the ground ~ so this is extremely important. Some of us would like to see that end for good (psssst it’s been happening since the 1920s whether you choose to recognize it or not).

Many of us recognize where the system is failing. It’s really quite simple…. Redirect all the funds being thrown at fighting the war on drugs (i.e. de-militize the tanks and warlord ethics of the “peace” officers) and pump it into education that will inevitably be key to ending poverty. Not sure why the far right refuses to see this… but they push a patriarchal agenda, so….

The problem with your line of thought is that you assume many of these people live the way they do because of lack of opportunity. It isn't.

Pulling children out of their culture and neighborhoods forcing them to be white so they can get a halfassed public school education is not the answer.

Fatherless children born into poverty are going to breed more toxic corruption. Period.

That is easy…. those countries have not waged a war against drugs the way the US has. Also, there is no middle class.

Our middle class is now dwindling and you can blame Republican tort reform for this. Since then we have faced the real estate market crash and now a global pandemic.

If you do not give children the opportunity to learn, which children learn what they live, and then harness that into either work experience and/or college… this problem is only going to get WORSE.

These economical issues are further complicated by the intolerance and discrimination many frustrated Americans are STILL faced with and is fueling injustice.

I personally don’t want to watch our government be empowered to the extent that we see an uprising in the form of a revolution…. which is where I feel we are headed.
