You sure are doing a lot of research.

You could ask me if you have questions.

Since I own one and have real experience with one.
I bet there are some vintage cars you could have bought for 1/2 the price (or less) of your late model Corvette that are worth more & could sell a higher price today Lex @The Prowler.

I know someone who bought a vintage 1960s Mustang & now it's worth a mint, eh?

He paid like less than $20,000, fixed it up now its worth over $100,000.

Ya gotta think smart when you buy these things, Lex.

Otherwise it's money wasted, down the drain like you did, eh.

This is a guy who uses his head, finds a Treasure in the Trash bin, fixes it up & now it's worth significantly more than he paid for it & the labor 'n parts he put into it Lex @The Prowler.

I mean I can tell yer not much of a connoisseur of cars lex.

But that's the kinda project I'd pursue if I was gonna plunk down a pile of cash in order ta make my purchase worthwhile, eh?

Like spending $120,000 on a depreciating asset isn't the way ta go imho.

The guy above spent a fraction of what you did & his car will keep appreciating in value while yours goes down, eh Prowler?

Ahhh, Senile @Joe.

It seems "if" is one of your favourite words.

Unfortunately, "if" is always followed by something that never happens.

So you always end up.

Doing.

Nothing.

I do not have the inclination to restore cars. I am sure it is a blast for some people. I have way too many other hobbies, Senile @Joe.

Yet new or restored, you still don't know how to identify value in cars & you paid way too much Lex @The Prowler.

I wanted a brand new C8 Corvette.

I was on 4 or 5 waiting lists for a couple years before I got to the top of a list.

I ordered exactly what I wanted.

You do what you like, Senile @Joe.

I will do what I like.

Enjoy.

By my scattershot estimate, you own or control several similar yet different vettes in a variety of different locations.

I did.

And the Gold I bought around the same time as your car is worth more because it has appreciated 40% while yours has depreciated 30%. Personally I'd rather own the Gold than an overpriced Muscle Car.

And I paid less for the Gold than your car Lex @The Prowler.

Similarly, I recently paid $4000 for a computer that used to sell for $40,000.

Essentially it's the same computer as it was 4 years ago, only a lot cheaper and I saved a lot by waiting Lex.

Funny how economics works, Lex.

Some of us would rather pay less for the same product.

But others like you, would rather pay much more & blow money to pay for somebody's advertising budget and the salaries of overpaid marketing executives at GM.

They should thank you for your wage subsidy, Lex. lol

Even Oerdin told you spent too much Lex.

I just noticed how the light is reflecting off the rear panel in this video....it gives a bit of an idea of how "glassy" the ceramic coating looks with the Arctic White paint....

You should see it under the sun IRL!!!

Enjoy.

Someone was just talking about my C8 Corvette on my 4-post lift....

Here is a picture I came across of my C8 Corvette at the dealership when it was having the protective wrap removed...

Such a great experience getting a car brand new.

Looks like a Ford...but what is it?

I checked it out...it looked like a Merkur XR4Ti to me so I checked to see the Ford "relative"....

Is it a Ford Sierra RS?
Its an Escort RS Turbo Series 2. I had it on a G reg 1990 plate. They were a boy racer's dream back in the late 90's and difficult to insure.

Its mental how you guys didn't have them when Ford is American...

The Ford Sierra and Escort Cosworths go for a small fortune today if they're in a good condition.

It is amazing how many posts I read with people referencing my 2023 C8 Corvette Stingray with the Z51 Performance Package.

I had no idea that it would cause such a stir on this site; but it has.

I will post some pictures in this thread of my C8 Corvette.

For you all to enjoy.

I think that might be a little out of my snack bracket.

And I always go for American Made....except for my bikes:
