even before Donald Trump, who has broadly promised to undo Biden’s agenda, won the presidential election.”

Not just Texas but elsewhere was the edict being fought against.

“Leading employer groups had come out strongly against the Biden rule, just as they did when former President Barack Obama tried to expand overtime protections to more workers. After all, raising the salary threshold would raise workers’ pay, and thus employers’ labor costs”

Salaried workers are exempt and enjoy a flexibility in work hours that would be lost as employers would shift those jobs to hourly with a set work period.

Texas is notoriously anti-worker. Fuck them.

The court battle is hurting workers. You suck for applauding this bullshit. Of course employer groups came out against it. They always want to squeeze the worker.

Overtime needs to become a thing of the past.

AI needs to make it so 6 hour work days are the norm.

Life will be better when we all become more efficient.

It affects 1% of the work force
Then why don't you fuckwits just get over it and let the people whose lives re effected have a better quality of life? Why so hateful? You people hate it when struggling people get better lives.

PS, 4 million workers is not 1% of the workforce. Do you math at all?

"are affected"

"Effected" and "affected" are different words with different meanings. I could try to explain, but why relive the frustration of every English teacher who tried, without success, to get it through your thick skull?

Why so hateful? You people hate it when struggling people get better lives.

It is driven by love and concern, not hate.

People should not have to work overtime. Technology has made it unnecessary and people's lives will be better when it is abolished.

Yes.....you're right 2.5%.......folk that perhaps took a job that provided flexible hours like perhaps a mother with a child that can work at her schedule.......that would potentially go away under Bidumb's regulation.

No there is nothing saying that these jobs have overtime requirements, but ifcthe potential for overtime existed, flex time would not be an option and the workers may lose out on a situation that fits their needs.

A classic case of the government tyingvto help
