i finally cancelled cable, tired of forking over $$$ for a million channels of nothing

good idea, but I only pay my internet ($85 a month) and I stream.. I pay $11 a month and get 2000 english channels of live tv and also have VOD all PPVs the whole package you just need to grab an android box.. and pay nothing with pirate apps if your not interested Live Local TV

just with some cheap rabbit-ears i did a scan and got like 30 local channels - good enough for now

they got rid of our signals, remember when it switched Rogers and Bell in cohoots just put infomercials ,fish tanks and fireplace on the channels that remained .. then poof no analog

as i understand it, analog was sloppy and took up too much bandwidth (u can fit 20 digital channels in place of 1 analog)

im gonna put one of those ugly ass old-school fish skeleton antennas on the roof lol. i mean if i can get 30 with rabbit ears that should give me a lot more

I use a pirate TiVo box and stream damn near anything I want. Still pay for netflix and hulu, actually the wife pays for them cause she shares them with the kids. And ppv stuff but I don't do much of that. All I pay the cable company is for internet.

Look into a digital antenna, I haven't yet, but a couple friends of mine swear you can get quite a few "Cable" channels on them.

Do you have a dvr? If I happen to turn on a movie with commercials, I'll just pause the movie for 10-15 minutes then you can just ff over them. Some of those stations seem to run 5 minutes of ads for every 20 minutes of show.

There are $10 +/- antennas out there, but I think are only local "Broadcast" channels you want the digital hdtv box, I think this is the one Chuck has.

I just ran across the internet sluts thread and it reminded me of this time when we were first living together and he had a bad day at work… he was in a funk and I wanted to cheer him up, so as we were getting ready for bed I asked him “what is one thing you’ve always wanted to do with a girl but never had the balls to ask” ~ he paused in silence thinking and looked up at me.

Before he even opened his mouth, I told him “besides anal” and paused for another sec before he asked for porn. He gave me my choice and I called out Asian anal. I’m sure he thought I had a porn addiction at that point, but I was just trying to cheer him up. So we put the porn on and I dozed off.

Wow. Get with it, Jeannie. I mean, really. I cancelled cable in 2017. We just had internet plus HBO, Netflix, and at the time, free Hulu. Cable is a scam.

Here, the internet (fiber optic) plus live TV (where I can watch Portuguese and English language programming) is 42 bucks. Add Netflix and HBO Now, and it's all covered for about 60 bucks a month.

We have Amazon prime, which is good because we order stuff so 2x benefit there… but Hulu is kinda where it’s at. I can’t decide if I want to fork over the money to have all access to that because I’ll watch tv for a week and then shut it down for 2 months distracted by other things. My parents were hippies and we could only watch PBS growing up. They unplugged the television for months at a time, so it’s never been normal for me to actually sit and watch tv everyday.

We also have Netflix, which I think is crap… but the kids have their shows and they don’t get a lot of time for that, so I can’t tell him to cancel it. I will never give up HBO. I want Bravo. But I’m not paying for that just for shahs of sunset… which I haven’t watched since MJ got married. I’m dying to see what happens in the next season.

He has the basic package. I think it’s like $15. But I must not pay much attention to it when it’s on because I don’t remember any commercials lol

But again those subscriptions aren't required if you sideload a scraping app that'll offer all that.. just need the wifi..
