Yes, that is true. His mother seems to have had mental issues and had been convicted of domestic violence. He did have an issue as a teen where he threatened to kill his family, which is a red flag, and guns were removed from the home (apparently his father's). The 22 year old never got convicted of anything so there was no legal grounds to deny him purchasing a firearm.

The only way to change that is to deny people their basic due process rights which is illegal.

Einsten didn't patent his theory. |He presented it in a paper published in Berlin in 1915. The theory was not a discovery. It was a complex problem he worked out. There is no limit on how many scientific theories can be published/put forward.
