Even back in the day I had no interest in arcades/whatever so I never had the hassle of dealing with that stuff.

If you have a general idea of the kinds of things you'd want to add you could do a Search for those kinds of products and see what developers are asking for a subscription to 'em. That would also give you an indication of the most popular/supported forum platforms as well, though any big-time developer will probably be coding for cross-platform deployment or have versions tailored to multiple code bases.
