Yeah I worked with a few white Afrikaners when I worked in Fort MacMurray. Our Doctor was also Afrikaans and there is no problem with them coming here at all, they will be welcomed.:ThumbsUp1:
The doctors of old South Africa used to be second to none. After all the first successful heart transplant in the world was by an Afrikaner in 1967, Dr Christiaan Barnard. The pass rate for university to accommodate the blacks is now 30%...at that rate one couldn’t sew a stitch.

About to bbq some shhicken. Soy and chilli for the marinade! :ThumbsUp1:

Sounds good. I grilled chicken thighs last night with a BBQ dry rub.

Tonight Im meeting up with my brother who is in town, and my sister, aunt, niece, nephew, and my son. We cooking out tonight.
Noice! Chicken thighs trump chicken breast as they aren’t as dry. Soy and chilli is a great marinade, and the other is simply a bottle of Italian salad dressing, both coated and sitting in the marinade at least an hour beforehand.
The other thing I do is undercook meat, doesn’t matter what meat it is...undercook, undercook, undercook...it’s where the flavour is at. Hell, one can blaze up the outside, but it has to be juicy and pink of the inside. That goes for a lot of things in life actually...
:ThumbsUp1:

Finished for the day of a ton of work in the house. Still SO much to do.

Now I'm just chilling here cooking a quiche. My mother has been whining for quiche.

Just got home. My wife, the youngest stepson, and I went for a walk on the beach at .ission Bay Park (we wanted the eldest to come with us but he is being a moppy teenager right now). After that we went out to Bay Park Seafood Company because they have reasonably priced super fresh never frozen seafood. We basically just ordered a bunch of their happy hour specials. A crab roll, a spicy tuna roll, ceviche, half a dozen fresh oysters, a couple of glasses of wine, etc... The kid did well with the sushi rolls and cevkche but refused to try a raw oyster. Next door was Siesel's Meats which is a specialty butcher shop and grocery store where we picked up some grass fed bone in lamb rib chops.

Those will be for dinner on Sunday.

Just got home. Grilled steaks with the family earlier, I smell heavenly, of wood smoke. Both from grilling with Jack Daniels wood chips, and the bonfire. I love this time of year.

I'm going through a bunch of remodeling photos

Wondering why there is SO MUCH of this white and dark wood modern farmhouse shit. Like I like some of it but I feel like people are doing this to death. Everything is "Farmhouse chic". Its a bit much.

Isnt it weird how fads like this just seem to start and everyone loves it? I feel like it's a marketing conspiracy. Like people really dont like this as much they think they like it. There is some sort of hypnosis going on that makes all these people like the same style suddenly and they all wanna do it and then one day it's just gonna pass and be cheesy and dated.

I AM going to get an old school farm house sink though because I've always loved those.

We did shop around for a new fridge and stove. I'm genuinely considering using hutches and maybe dressers and turning them into my kitchen cupboards. I think it would turn out awesome AND possibly saving some money. Or end up costing more... who knows lol. I'm pretty good at refurbishing furniture.

I love creative home design like that. It really helps a home stand out plus, like you said, it can save a lot of money.
