I agree that people who're caught in possession of drugs shouldn't be punished, it's the large scale suppliers that need to be caught but even then I think it's OTT to dish out say 10 years to someone caught with a pound of cocaine... I think all drugs should be made legal and adults can decide if they want to take them or not, educate kids that drugs are bad for you and advise people but give them the choice to do drugs safely ffs...
I also think that any criminal except those guilty of pre-meditated murder, sex and abuse towards children and violent rapes should be helped when released to get a good job and a life IF they're willing to work hard for it, not just cast out of society and refused jobs because of mistakes they've made... The current system here is ALL wrong!

I would say the opposite is true. Because institutional racism isnt real. If it was real, take it up with who runs those institutions It's the rubber torus leftists wont let go of, even while actual sex/labor slavery is the worst it's ever been.
Black women and children are abused and murdered in grotesque numbers, and leftists want to defend police because a couple black male criminals physically assaulted police and were shot. Because they were resiting arrest.
Let's help more black women get murdered a year by defunding police and letting violent crime spike because "black lives matter". Its completely absurd.

Informed people who pay attention already know that crime and crime victims is massively over represented in the black community. We are talking about the majority of murders, the majority of all kinds of violent crime, the majority of most crimes really. But you ARE aware of the BLM riots and the black men who were shot by cops (for resisting arrest, btw). I'm sure you hear so much about shootings that have are all justified as examples of racism, right?

And Jacob Blake was being arrested for domestic abuse and sexual assault of a black woman when he resisted a taser twice and went for another weapon and was shot 7 times and left paralyzed. And Kenosha was destroyed for this man.

In a context where the CDC refers to gun violence as an epidemic that urgently needs to be addressed; where intimate partner violence is on the rise (especially in times of social upheaval and public health lockdowns); and where most Black women, having experienced institutional and structural racism (even at the hands of law enforcement and social service agencies they specifically requested help from); and where the U.S. homicide rate has increased to its highest point in over six decades, it's not a given that nobody could predict this, on the one hand, and that this violence doesn't have "situational" roots rather than "essentialist" ones, on the other.
I've been following--for decades, now--femicide and female infanticide rates in countries throughout the world (an interest sparked by my travels in Asian countries, by connections to my religious studies program at uni, and by my lifelong fascination with both gender itself and with gender disparities); the numbers are, indeed, appaling. The Patriarchy, it seems, is alive and well.
But these numbers reflect the prevailing "undesirability" of female offspring in many traditionally male-dominated cultures. In other words, "boy = good," "girl = bad." It's repugnant, to say the least, and evil behaviours based on this view are criminal (or should be criminalized). In these cases, women and girls are being attacked and murdered precisely because they're women and girls. (As someone who's part of the LGBTQ community, the idea of being attacked and killed because of who you are is something that strikes--again and again--close to home.)
I'm just not convinced (yet) that this type of extremely specific targeting of women and girls is what's going on in the U.S., a country of litigious lethal weapon owners where everybody and their little nephew Timmy own the means to end another human being's life in a flash (rather than first resort to any attempt at civil discussion).
Yes, Black women and girls are attacked and murdered at over twice the rate that, say, White women are, but, again, this (to me) says more about the socio-economic flaws and racial inequities (which give rise to insane crime rates) that plague your country than it does about Black women and girls as a set of special victims. Seems more like Black women and girls are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Massively so.
Of course, none of this is intended to minimize the pain and suffering experienced by those families who were robbed of a loved one. I feel that deeply, I really do.
I just wish Americans would start to address (or work harder at examining) the underlying issues they face when it comes to the tragic and unnecessary loss of life in their communities rather than pointing at a gunshot wound and screaming, "a roll of gauze, stat!"

Where did I say it was about race? No where. I'm pointing out a disparity in how actual real human suffering like black femcide and human trafficking, in favor of pure bullshit. Like CRT and "police brutality".
Defunding police will make existing problems WORSE. Open borders just make trafficking vastly worse and less police and police funding will cause more black women(black people really) to die.
I did vote for School Choice, criminal justice reform and opportunity zones. Anything anyone does that isnt in line with democrats gets attacked and accused of bullshit. Admin called School Choice segregation. Apparently allowing inner city parents to have access to better schools is called "segregation" even though it's the opposite.
No one wants to compromise or even hear out other people. The left is devoted to fighting, villanizing and opposing the right while demanding things that are harmful.
I'm sure allowing men to self identify as women and completely ignoring rape and abuse isnt gonna help anything.
