The bear was faster than him.

A less powerful but mobile handgun might have save his lfe or scared the bear off.

btw.. the box weighed 26lbs and there is no heavy rifle that I know of that shoots 9mm ammo. So stop shit posting about stuff you know nothing about.

Now conversely, all these .223 short barrelled rifles that actually fall into the pistol category, would be GREAT for smoking a bear in the woods! Very easily maneuvered. A SBR with a 30 round mag of .223 would smoke the fuck out of a bear. People like josephine soil themselves over those though!

Sweet jeebus josephine! A SBR in .223 or 300 Blackout is UNDER $1K. A 12ga slug gun is a few hundred dollars. My 10mm Glock which is far from ideal for bear was $6XX I think.

I dont think you understand. While NOTHING, not even the possession of bear spray guarantees you'll survive, its much better than what you people would let anyone have if you could impose your will.....I.E. NOTHING!

I have.

What those experience taught me is that while a gun can help, it's speed and your own level of physical fitness which can help even more.

If yer a fat, out of shape middle aged guy 100 lbs overweight, that's certainly a handicap. Even if you have a gun, more than likely that handicap will cost you your life.
