I came by my conclusions and opinions legitimately: through years of looking into not only what agreed with my position but arguments and propositions from all sides.

If that makes me sound like an academic on the subject well, there's not much I can do about that. I reckon that's what happens when someone actually does a bit of research instead of C&P'ing boilerplate from one of their favorite propagandists.

If I'm liberated from the bondage of things like pride, greed, lust, et.....and like the apostle Paul I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength - whether in times of need or plenty - and I can be content in all circumstances and not tossed about by the whims of the world....

There is a reason why you see the "religious" (and among them actual Christians) on the small gov side of the spectrum.

Just throwing that out there. I think people have gotten things backwards and view serving our flesh as freedom when really that's nothing but slavery if you really unpack it.

We can easily list good and fruitful things that built cohesive and safe communities that come from the word of God. Which urges us to think in the eternal and not the temporal.

Can we make such a list of good things that have came from the sexual revolution and porn and such? Look at what came from that. Broken homes and human trafficking are two easy ones.

Like how we cant hear the sounds planets and black holes make. We record the frequencies and change them into something we can hear.

I mean....of course I believe the entire universe is designed and created by one Being. And He is outside of it and not subject to the laws within it. So time doesnt apply to Him. He doesnt require a beginning. He is the source of life itself so death doesnt touch Him. He isn't even male or female because He doesnt require biology.

I think how people think of God is really important to how these discussions go. Because we could be both saying "God" but we can mean entirely different beings.

Holy Wars are perversions spawned from books spreading "the word" different gods are put in place due to culture and folklore.. look at Japan and its Tentacle sea god perversions, Gods are irrelevant in the grand scheme, since its delusional episodes brought on by mans interpretations of what is, a book that has been changed and altered over centuries is gunna do nothing but just change the dynamic of the Holy War .. Well I say this because while Muslims believe in purging the infidels (radical islam)....the bible opposes war.

It addresses in historical narratives when Israel was being established.

Under the new covenant though Christian's are definately not supposed to persecute those who dont believe. You cant make anyone believe, only God can do that. If people are rejecting it... scripture says to shake the dust off your feet and leave them alone.

But yeah a lot of problems arise when people manipulate ANY written words for any nefarious purpose. That's why it's so important (and not just with the bible.. let alone any sort of spiritual text....but even with media and messages we hear and info we are given from any source) to do our due diligence and make an effort to really know what is being said and know why we believe what we believe.

This goes for anything. People who say they are liberal/left/conservative should know WHY they are and what that means. People who claim to be scientologists or JW or Moromon should know why they are. Same with Christian's.

Anything that humans can manipulate for some sort power or gain....they will.

Well a few posts up I said that Catholicism is heresy. Possibly the whore in Revelation.

When people started really studying for themselves and calling out the catholic church, the church responded by killing them.

The gospel is pretty simple. The only way to reconcile to God is through Christ.

We are not able to behave well enough to met a holy standard. Humanity is broken and sinful. None of us are able to able keep Gods commands. The purpose of God giving His laws was to show humans how off the mark we are.

Catholicism teaches a works based salvation and the bible tells us none of our works are anywhere near good enough for us to save ourselves.

This is where belief and faith come in. We believe and have faith that Jesus did for us what we could not do for ourselves. We serve God out of a genuine desire to do so.....not with the thought we are going to get brownie points or get into heaven.

Coming to a real belief in Christ will change you and change your life. We are always going to battle with sin. Its Gods grace and mercy that brings us to His kingdom.....its nothing we do and isn't because of us. It's because of Him.

You could have someone who speaks very well and looks like they are a "good Christian" who can fool everyone around them including their church....and they can be toxic, unrepentant, manipulative hellbound sinners. We definately see that happening in the Christain ranks. Child rapists. Scammers. You name it.

And then the town drunk whose family disowned him, who cant get it togther for the life of him can call out to God in his brokenness, with humility, and really mean it and THAT will be the guy God shows His grace and mercy too.

Its not about being a good person because God says absolutely none of us are good. We are all sinners. Our very nature is flawed. It's about being a real person and living your life consistently in accordance with Christ and believing that He has it handled. If you genuinely are in Christ....you'll still sin but you will turn from it and make the effort to live a godly life. Your sin will grieve you.

So it's also not "I can sin all I want and just tell God "sorry" and I'm good"...God sees right into the very core of us all. Outward works and appearances mean nothing to Him.

So it takes a lot of twisting and a lot of leaving out a lot of scripture to come to a place where it's okay to try to forcibly convert anyone or forcing people to be under church authority. Scripture specifically teaches against that.

It actually astounded me how far off from what scripture teaches the more "popular Christinity" really are. But the more I learned and continue to learn about the biblical worldview according to scripture....the more sense that makes to me.

I actually think many species of animals we see today went through years of evolution (adaptation....I dont believe macro evolution that species can change into completely different species....even if the platypus could be a 1 creature arguement for that lol) and that the antediluvian world was much different than our modern one.

I know this is bad but we moved out here a few years ago..... so our church is an hour and a half away.

And I really do NOT want to change churches at all. Our church is like our family. They've been there for my family through some pretty awful things.

So.....as a result, I havent physically attentended a Sunday service in a while. My church started live streaming service when covid happened. They didnt close down, but they started live streaming it for people who were worried about going.

So that's what I do. I mean my church is basically a worship service followed by an actual bible study. And we have a ministry I'm very passionate about. So...I cant imagine joining another church and going through the work of finding one and all that.

We stay as connected as we can lol.

My daughter just did a two day babysitting job for a single father. The kids were recently removed from their mother by CPS. The mother lives walking distance from me and my daughter knows these kids. The older0

Okay so my daughter knows the older one. Shes 15 and my daughter is 17. Then there is another little girl who is 10.

The mother was actually going out drinking very frequently and leaving these girls at home and neither had phone service. So they had no way of calling their mother. And they were being left alone all night. A few nights these kids actually ended up on my deck at 2, 3am. Terrified. So of course I'd let them in and they would be over my house all damn day and I never heard a single word from the mom. And they would EAT. Eat like they dont eat much at home. It really bothered me A LOT. It was a sad situation. And it hasnt improved.

Think about how desperate little girls must be to actually go to another families house and knock on the door and window at 2am. How SAD is that?

Mom is pretty crass. Speaks ghetto. Think that loud girl who would wear cookie monster PJ pants to class in high school type. The one who would cuss loudly and talk nonstop about "gettin fucked up".....that's her. Shes always talking kicking people's asses, too. Shes just fucking retarded. Irresponsible. Obnoxious. I dont even know how she can afford going out like she does....she has no job and her boyfriend is a fucking loser.

Anyway CPS removes them, sends them to dad. Dad lives walking distance from me as well. The rules are he has to have someone who is at least 16 babysit for him while he works. And the man is quite unprepared. And the kids dont want to be there either. It just sucks all around.

So my daughter went ahead and babysat for him.

And when it came time to pay her......guys....he paid her IN WEED. He gave MY daughter two large bags of fucking WEED.

She was so shocked and flustered she just thanked him, came home, in tears....didnt tell me why right away. Then finally calls me into her room, asks me not to get mad.....and shows me these sandwich bags full of fucking weed. Tells me the ADULT father paid her in weed. Shes seriously mortified.

What the fuck am I supposed to do about THIS?! WHO DOES THIS?! NONE of us smoke pot ffs. So we have this weed and my daughter is owed MONEY.

I should go over there but I'm kinda scared too lol. I mean....WHAT THE FUCK.

Thank God my husband is home. He gave our daughter 200 bucks and took the weed lol. Not sure how he is gonna handle this but I told him this one is ON HIM. Lol. And shes not allowed to baby sit for this guy ever again. I almost called the cops.

Btw No, my husband did not "buy" the weed off our daughter. She babysat for money. She deserved to be paid and this is a situation that we need to take the reigns and handle it between the adults. Shes got the money she worked for and the weed is our problem now.

Without Jesus......something like this would have normally led me to act in a way that lands me in jail. With Jesus? Well. My husband is the leader of the house.....he can be the one to go to jail lol.

I think hubby here is gonna report it to the DHS worker. He looks utterly disgusted and hasnt said much besides telling my daughter shes not allowed over there anymore. But the girls can still come here.

The girls are good kids. They are pretty polite and sweet. They like being at our house. I dont wanna rock the boat so much that it prevents the girls from being able to hang out at out house.....they have a rough home life :/

I'll get a picture of the weed when I get home. We are out buying flightless fruit flies and crickets for my daughters tree frogs lol. No clue what we are gonna do with this weed. At least it's not illegal here anymore.

So here is the weed

And the guy apparently didnt have the money....but naturally he has all these weed.

I unfortunately just had a conversation with the mom. So I just got a earful of the relationship drama between these two. They are young. They got together at 15 and had the older daughter. So they both dropped out of school and the guy has a GED and she just waits tables when she works.

They've had a really dysfunctional on and off relationship all these years that involves, alcohol, cheating, domestic abuse, homelessness. They are legally married but spilt up because he was having sex with a much older woman who lives a few miles away. She has some shitty boyfriend who is like 4 years younger than her.

She told me she would pay us but I told her not to worry about it. I dont believe she will pay me and she needs her money more than we do.

And i actually said that my daughter will not be babysitting for either of them (if she gets the kids back) anymore and if they really need someone to just drop them off here.

So i fully expect to be taken advantage of.. ..but fuck I feel so bad for these girls and I would rather them hang out here than be left alone or left with Lord only knows who.

My daughter feels better about it. We did some frog shopping and talked. Shes good. From now on she is making sure payment is established before she takes a baby sitting job.

I mean she babysits. That's her "job". Shes BLS/CPR certified and everything.

I have no idea what this man was thinking doing this. Its completely fucked up. But from what I know of these two.....thinking doesn't seem to be a strong point for either of them.

That whole situation is just one big mindfuck.
I'm glad you're trying to do what's best for the young'ns... they didn't sign up for any of this insanity and it's awesome they know at least a couple of adults who aren't complete shit shows.

As for the weed I appreciate the offer but it's not fully legal here yet (you can possess up to 4 ounces and grow I think it's four plants but buying and selling is still trafficking. I know, right? LoL). I wouldn't want to chance getting it mailed here, especially since Youngkin is trying to re-criminalize it as much as he can.
