At the time citizen's arrest was perfectly legal in the state of Georgia. They legally were 100% correct to hold a suspected criminal until the police arrived. That was explicit in the law. Are you really claiming it is wrong for people to use their legal rights under that law?

As soon as the criminal "jogger" attacked a 70 year old man, punching him in the face, and trying to take his firearm... That is legally the definition of a good shoot. You are barking at the moon.

They don't have the right to detain anyone that frees them from all consequences. You're not a lawyer, I have an actual lawyer about 15 ft away from me right this very minute. And he went to law school here in the US, not some 3rd world country.

That said, I did admit in my first post that it was idiotic to attempt an armed citizens arrest in this case.

And yet, nothing was found on him, least of all a weapon to defend himself. And he only went through/around 1 house on a construction site. God forbid a black man show any curiosity about a project in his community.

However, it was beyond idiotic, it was murderous.

If it had been a white guy who was approached and shot by a group of blacks, you wouldn't give a shit.

I haven't really followed this case closely but there seem to be several problems for the defense which make it much harder to claim self defense. I did see a 10 minute clip of the prosecution's cross examination today and she seemed like she really was good at her job. Much better than Binger or Lunchbox.

Ahmad was a boxer.

He was running as part of his training regimen.

He lived 350 yards from the construction site where he was murdered.

They believe he had used the hose on that vacant property for water at some point before the murder.

There were no reports of burglary or theft in the entire neighborhood for the weeks leading up to this murder.

He was reported by one neighbor who “thought he looked suspicious” for wearing baggy pants.

He was wearing a t-shirt, basketball shorts and running shoes when he was killed.
