I know in MI, you pretty much need to be completely lying OR have survived a murder attempt to get anything done. Or a long list of unwanted malicious contact to get any sort of RO.

I had a friend who was in an unstable marriage where they both drank on a nightly basis. And they were going through IVF treatments....which to me is insane, because if you are remortgaging your house and taking hormone shots to prepare your body to conceive WHY the fuck would you be drinking at all let alone heavily....but whatever.

One night they got into a big fight while drunk. So she went into the bathroom and legit punched herself several times until her face was all bruised. Then she called the police and said he attacked her.

The next day she realized what she had done and told on herself. They didn't care, they still held him. She even went and told the court and read a letter about her bad mental health and drinking and that she lied. He was still charged. On the basis that victims of domestic violence often end up lying later to protect their abuser. ....which is insane to me.

I know people do that, but if they choose to do that it's on THEM. It shouldnt be okay to charge innocent people just because that person could be lying to protect them.

He had to do like 90 days in county and I couldn't believe he didnt divorce the shit out of her. If someone did that to me I would file immediately and never speak to them again.

I'm expected to go and do unpaid work at 9am this morning, I've been in prison for six months, have a tag on my ankle, have social workers phone me every day and announce requirment of my body to travel there to talk about absolutely nothing! I'm not going to do ANY fuckin work and all for one stupid night with an axe, nobody was harmed except me, I've lost everything and I'm still losing irl... The real crime I commited according to the law was the skype posts, I'm being harrassed on a monumental scale for asking to see my dogs via skype, let that sink in... I'm probably going back to jail because I have no intention of doing any unpaid work, they can kiss the tip of my penis!

No haha I was charged and stupidly pled guilty to domestic abuse, I told this story a few times now but long short I was pissed drunk, got into an argument with the girl I had courted since school and threatened her dad, showed up at their house with an axe of all things... Made a scene as you can imagine, that was it... Arrested, remanded and three mnths later I pled guilty hoping I could save my relationship amongst other things... I had to hold in my laugh when they talked about my Hitler love, posting super imposed pictures with me and Hitler, I was like "Is This really happening?" in court so I knew it was happening but the context was ridic...
After three months I got out and told to do 140hours unpaid work by the Judge...
I messaged her via skype asking to see my dogs and she snitched big time, it was as innocent as that...
I got arrested and jailed for innocent skype messages affter that... I cut the end off because I've typed far too much...

And this is why I wish my son would let me choose a girl for him. I DETEST ho’s that use law enforcement as a weapon against guys. Thanks Flea, she brought up every argument we had in over a decade but at least she didn't lie and say I was violent towards her, I'm no angel but I'm certainly not a wife beater...
