Someone in this thread postulated that it's topics like this and "the left's" response to it that got Trump elected.
It's probably more accurate to point 'topics like this' and 'the left's response' as symptomatic of the radical leftward shift of the Overton window. 30 years ago, even 20, I might have been describe as 'center-Left'. These days, I've little doubt I'd have "FASCIST!" screamed at me for the same positions I've always held.
1. Knowledge is based on objective fact, not subjective narrative.
2. Leave people alone unless they're hurting somebody.
3. What you do behind closed doors is nobody's business. But when you do it in public, fuck you, you
made it everybody's business.
4. Your beliefs are like your junk. Be proud of it, but don't shove it in anybody else's face without their consent.
4A. That goes for your lifestyle choice as much as it does for Ned Flanders' dumbass religion.
5. War is misfortunate; war for profit and/or based on false premises is evil.
6. Your body, your choice, but an unborn child is not a bodypart and therefore is
not 'your body'.
6A. Notwithstanding that, a woman who did not consent should not be forced to bear or raise a child.
6B. Following from 4A, a woman who uses abortion as birth control is not fit to bear or raise a child, and should be relieved of the physical capacity to do so.
6C. Following from 4A and 4B, any male who has impregnated a female without the intention or ability to raise the resulting child should be summarily and forcibly rendered infertile. No three strikes; fuck up just once and you're out of the gene pool.
7. Power belongs in the hands of the people, and populism is free-range democracy.
8. Big government inevitably engages in overreach, and the boots-on-the-ground enforcers of that overreach are the police.
8A. A badge is the best friend a criminal can wear.
