I just have very solid boundaries and morbid humor.

Hence the mess in meltdown called "flynn".
Well, without derailing this thread anymore, I think an honest poll needs to be posted with a few things that are currently going wrong with this forum and it’s management.

hes like some types of dogs, they dont respect 'nice'

a labrador gets on your bed u verbally scold them off, but an akita? u YELL and KICK them off. literally lol

Im like that fucked up person that would rather smack it in the head with a toy while saying "git em" and laughing at its battle face.

Then pop it a treat and leave it to its owner.

I'm not looking to adopt, you know? Not even the strays that follow me.

I once drove into Northern Canada.

It was a very long ride.

I went as far north as a place called Chetwynd.

Large bears could often be seen sleeping on the side of the road.

If yer ever in that part of the country, don't get out of your car.

It can be dangerous.

Hopefully your car wont' break down or run out of gas on the highway up there.

Sault St Marie to Knoxville, Tennessee... non-stop

What was that like?

Used the air con vents to keep my eyes cold and open.
Sure buddy. That makes complete sense. Good on ya maaaate!

Left a 12 hour shift immediately after with a workmate to get him down to his kids in TN for an emergency. Didn't stop for fuel after we left, or to pee, or to get caffeine, just drove. I hadn't slept for a day. The cold ac on my eyeballs and lids hurt enough to keep me awake.
That shit (AC) kills my eyes. Too dry. I have tear supplement drops to do the trick. Or the spray that you just apply over closed eyelids and they’re absorbed.

'tear supplement drops'

LULZ!!!

weakness alert :Awesomeness:
I don’t produce a lot of saliva or tears. A lot of my water goes into muscle regeneration. I’m a big wave rider. Traveled big distances to surf remote locations.

I thought Australia would be an Interesting Drive around the continent

However, according to this map, there's not purely coastal route, eh?

australia-roadmap.gif

....at some point, the road disappears in the North.

The longest drive is across the Nullarbor from Perth to Brisbane. It’s virtually a straight line for a good part of the way, which makes it dangerous. A sleep-maker road! I’ll send pics.

...why is there no Northern coastal route in Australia?

is it just to hot or inhospitable?

My longest trip was flying back from South America, going back to South America, flying back to Australia, then finding out my dad bought the farm and having to fly to America... all in the course of under a week.

Jet lag cancels itself out when you're dead tired.

I had just enough time to get drunk after the news and get scooped up in a car bound for the airport again.

I know it's not strictly sticking to the OP, but that was my biggest road trip.

My son and I spent a ton of money and time readying Misa to sail her from San Francisco to Playa Flamingo, CR. Almost 5000 miles. The boat is truly capable and ready. It’s a huge investment in time. The adventure part would be awesome. Sadly it won’t happen.

Straight through from Springfield IL to Palm Springs Cali 30 years ago with a friend. We stopped and bought a bottle of Jack on the way out of town. Drank on and off the whole way there. Now, the most I drive is about 14 hours without stopping for sleep.

I used to do a regular runs in the winter hauling produce from Nogales to Vancouver (1,771 miles/2,820 kilometers). That was probably one of the longer regular runs.

Calexico was also a popular destination for me too.

That part of the US, you don't even think you're in the US anymore... I got BEANED! I think I was the only White guy in town.

The Latina ladies were probably thinking, "Damn, what's that fine looking young White boy doing around here?" Unfortunately most of them couldn't speak English very well when you go into towns like that, so they couldn't express their thoughts and desires...

Some years ago I did the trip from Lands End to John O Groats. 874 miles. The longest single drive you can make in the UK with a specific taget town in mind. I was raving off my fuckiong tree and it felt like I got there in 10 minutes. Lol

San Francisco to NYC, via Montreal. About 3500 miles.

I also drove from St. Ives to Drumnadrochit. And that was on the wrong damn side of the road.

One can express thoughts/desires without words, you know.

The longest road trip I’ve ever taken was when I drove from Seattle to Los Angeles nonstop after my marriage ended. I only stopped for gas. I’m pretty sure it was 22 hours nonstop.

Vancouver to LA is about 1400 miles.

So suppose you drive at average 70 to 75 mph with a stopover for gas that's 1400/70=20 hours minimum. But with gas stops border waits more like 22-24?

Git it @Lokmar?

As one of yer heroes said..."Fuzzy mayeth! ....Lokmeer!

I drive 95 to 100mph without a seatbelt. Pretty much Mach5 with my hair on fire.
