Well, it has taken the criminalization of DEI to finally put the lie to rest.
Yes, this is ALL about supremacy. It always has been.
From when our Founders put "all men are created equal" in the Declaration of Independence, but could not agree to outlaw slavery in the Constitution.
From when the South seceded, and we fought a Civil War, and then afterwards, pardoned and gave full amnesty to the traitors.
From when there were violent responses to the Civil Rights Movement.
Right up to the BLM marches that made Trump hide in the White House bunker.
Right up to his revenge today.
Tomorrow marks the first day of Black History Month.
When Trump's perky press secretary was asked by reporters how our government will observe it, she had no answer.
Because there will be none. And not just of Black History Month.
Pete Hegseth, who only achieved the rank of Major in the Army National Guard, but is now in charge of the entire Department of Defense based on.... "MERIT" .... has been the first to announce it.
Proudly.
There will be NO more official observances of Martin Luther King Day, or of Black History Month. Or of Juneteenth.
Nor of Women’s History Month, or Women’s Equality Day.
Nor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, or National American Indian Heritage Month
Nor of Pride Month. Nor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Nor or the Holocaust Days of Remembrance.
Every day will be a celebration of the Supremacy, Merit and Entitlement of, well, you know who.
But before all you working class folks, all you good ol' boys of the "right" shade and faith start fist-pumping and raising a beer to celebrate, remember this.
This is not YOUR victory.
You are NOT "one of them".
It was THOSE same guys who invented the phrase "white trash", who ridiculed hard-working white folks as hillbillies and country bumpkins and
rednecks.
It was THOSE guys who kept working white folks on the other side of the tracks, and in city slums. Who worked them long hours in factories, in coal mines, in dangerous conditions, who rounded them up for cannon fodder in their very profitable wars, because their lives didn't matter.
And if you got injured, or sick, or old, and you could not work, too bad. You starved on the street and died. They didn't care. There were plenty more where you came from.
They had all the power, and you had none. So there was nothing you could do about it.
But then, your great-grandfathers and grandfathers started organizing, and unionizing, and marching, and striking, and a lot of them got killed.
But they got more honest men elected. They got laws passed. They got basic, decent, moral, human rights for you folks.
And then all the lowly people beneath you took courage and fought for the same kind of human rights. Women. People of other colors, and heritage, and faith, and orientation and ability.
But let us be VERY clear about this. NONE of us, any of us, achieved the level equal to the rich white elites. EVER.
Including you.
The only way you are ever going to achieve the "merit" to even be allowed to stand in their presence is to serve them, work for them, or die for them.
He did not care about the cold at his Inauguration. He just wanted to keep you OUT. His billionaires had all the front row seats. At that, and at the indoor parade. He would not have walked among you, this time. You are of no further use to him.
And you women. Why do you think the Department of Education is on the chopping block? Why do you think that Trump is touting his online courses from Kindergarten through College courtesy of PragerU? Because the goal is to pressure you into staying home and teaching the kids.
The kids you will have no choice about having, once they ban birth control. You will stay home. You and your daughters will be indoctrinated by the mandated religious courses to be sweet, obedient and submissive. And your sons will be taught they are your righteous lords and masters. Once again.
You will not build a career and become financially independent. You will not run for office, either. In fact, quite a few present Republicans are saying out loud that you should not vote at all.
Why? Because the majority of women vote Democrat. Support liberal causes. Believe in compassion and fairness. And equality.
And the lords and masters can't have that. And they won't.
They don't have to, now.
The new good ol' days are BACK.
Don't fist-pump. Don't raise a beer. Don't ask for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for you.
As for the rest of us, may God help us all, because we are going to keep fighting for what is right and just and honorable and REAL.
And any time we lose heart and think, well, maybe all this noise they are making means something, and maybe they have a point, all we have to do is look at them.
At the hypocrites with their multiple marriages and affairs, and their religious fervor of hate and abuse, and their shady business dealings and corruption and fraud, and realize there is not one single upright pillar of integrity among them, male OR female, who lives by the principles they preach.
Not one good man.
Definitely, not THAT man.
