So you want anyone who bought a house in the past 5 years to lose their shirts when housing prices plummet?

What kind of an animal are you?

It's sick and inhumane.

Typical.
They wait until Blackrock, Vanguard, and other vulture capitalists have already gobbled up a certain amount of the market *then* say it's a problem and pretend to support a "solution" that at best only prevents it from getting any worse (as if it needs to).

Gosh, it's almost as if they're all in on The Plan and merely acting out their assigned roles.

Hey, I'm not saying it's not a racket. I'm questioning who "they" is...just Democrats? Specific Democrats?
Any Republicans? All politicians?

Just asking...
Have you seen these house flipper things on tv?
. Many years ago when a youngster living in lower CA I worked doing front calls for a couple of guys who did that...
like 1976 or so. It was with some reservation because the way I saw it they were increasing value, stuffing their pockets, while pricing out people who would be perfectly happy having bought the place as it was, and fixing it, or living in it as is. It's an old racket, and of course everyone is getting their cut from the home inspector to the POTUS. Can't stop it.
. Recently and for the first time, the city had a mandatory inspection of the units where I live. Reason: the newish owners who have raised the unit rentals to 150% of what they were 3 years ago objected to a hike in property tax. I don't suppose it ever occurred to these meatheads that it is that action on their part which suggests the property has been undervalued and undertaxed.
...anyway, they were a bit amused that I have a coffee table which looks just like a kayak in my livingroom. I explained that the area has a history of flooding and one should always be prepared. I hope that subtle remark weighed in the owners favor because god (Jehovah to be specific in this case) knows if the taxes goes up, it's the renters who will pay it.

So, Robert Reich is responsible for this? He is "they"?

Reich was (Ford, Carter, Clinton, and Obama regimes) and still is part of the establishment.

As usual YOU added the "responsible for" nonsense in an effort to tangentialize the actual point of my poast.

No. Have fun; laterz.

Certainly house flippers, but they're small potatoes compared to the hedge funds and airbnb and vrbo type investors.

He was in those governments, no argument from me about that.

So, you want to point fingers but not claim he's responsible for the policy.

That's interesting.

Who doesn't hate them airbnbs? - When they are in one's neighborhood.
.The fact is that "investors" are not working people.
They do nothing but create inflation.

While I was still working, one day, the department head came to give us peasants an address re: we must satisfy the "stakeholders" w/o further definition. I stopped him and asked who he meant by stakeholders while looking about the room at the other peasants - mainly immigrant workers, a few dumb Americans like myself. He said, to clarify, shareholders actually. I went on to explain that we the workers were also "stakeholders" in as much as our very lives depended on the health of the company, and it was we who created/make the product the company sold for profit...further, that he should be more concerned with satisfying our needs and less with a bunch of silver spoon shits who never worked a day in their lives.
..As I recall he abruptly ended his address.
...and this is how things work.

What? Honey, I know full well that Clinton and Obama at least participated in and enabled all of this bullshit (possibly Ford and Carter, too, but I don't know as much about them), and I have said it hundreds and hundreds of times. I know Reich was in those administrations, but I do NOT know, and neither do you, whether or not he has had a change of heart and actually wants to help fix things. That can happen, though likely not. But, that is beside the point. Lily and I both asked you a simple fucking question: Who is "they"? I wasn't tangentializing anything, nor do I think Lily was. But honestly, I don't even know what you mean by that.

I find it interesting that you so often attack the people who are certainly within your orbit of thinking, while leaving the unabashed corporatists totally alone. You are insufferable.

Garraty seems to want things to change without considering that he has to persuade people versus judge and scorn them.

That's the problem with him and people like him and those he posts videos of. They're derisive. When were the leaders of great movements derisive?

Why would anyone burn bridges versus build them?

It makes very little sense to me. Nothing changes that way. You have to build alliances and educate people who are open to learning, not ridicule and lambaste them.

The professional managerial classes, if you need a literal label to wrap your head around.

Anyone who enables the system directly or indirectly by making sure nothing gets done when it *needs* to be done, when it would matter, and nothing ever gets done that might address the fundamental issues that are causing problems.

Anyone making sure the range of acceptable debate never exceeds certain guardrails and so always only includes options from within the duopoly/establishment and focuses on symptoms and incidentals instead of addressing root causes.

The sheepdogs and dissemblers and obfuscators.
The apologists and stenographers and grievance merchants.

People who only want to waste our time by asking questions to which they already do, or should, know the answers. In their own way they're just as much enablers of the status quo as politicians/media and deserve the same 'respect'.

Oh, my pal. No one said I need a literal model. I was just trying to figure out what you were ranting about this time. But I'm learning it doesn't matter, because you don't really give a shit about anything other than your rage. BTW, nothing in your answer could be classed as "A literal model." LMAO.

They either know better and are only pretending because they need the drama or they're incapable of understanding and in that case there's no point trying to help.

I hate this phrase but sometimes the stoopid thing just fits:

It is what it is.
