On people under 18?IOLs were common going back to 1949. That's over 75 YEARS ago.

On people under 18?
If it goes back as far as, or pre-, 1989 then I got fucking swindled. What I do know is that I was told that I couldn't get that because I was under 18 and it wasn't approved for under-18s at the time. You might be onto something here. I'm trying to locate a reference. Lots of sources about IOLs in children who have had congenital cataracts removed as young as infants, but not seeing how far back it goes.

Yeah, its like 7 of us (excluding you) playing sock puppet with 42 avg. daily active accounts.
Nobody has anything better to do.

I haven't made one yet, I can't be fucking bothered to disappoint people with two accounts at a time![]()

Being on Disability doesn't exactly make the top eye experts in the world available to me, yanno? The problem is also a pretty significant barrier to addressing the problem, as it turns out. And don't give me any "bootstraps" shit, either. It's cheap and easy to give somebody advice that you'll never have to try to implement yourself. It's entirely possible that at the time you had your congenital cataracts removed, replacement IOLs were not yet approved for your age group but certainly you could have had lenses implanted subsequently.
Anything's gotta be better than +12.00 (or thereabouts) contact lenses and really thick glasses when not wearing them, as well as you being almost totally visually incapacitated when not wearing any corrective lenses.
There are other risk factors that can crop up when going an entire lifetime without lenses in your eyeball, including retinal and vitreous problems.
Did no eye doctor ever recommend you do this in the past 35 years?

Financial circumstances have me living in a one-dog-turd town in far northern Arizona. There ain't shit up here for that, and the place where there is shit like that (the Phoenix metro area) is unreachable and unaffordable for somebody in my financial straits. My sympathies. That much said, during my 30+ career as an eye doctor I saw a large number of people receiving social services getting top quality vision care.
Maybe you need to look into available services, I don't know, contact a social worker or whatever, perhaps they can locate some programs that can get you better health care.
Sorry to be a downer. Things don't always work out the way we might like them to. The key is to be okay with it. So I'm okay with it.
Good morning wizer. You are giving me way too much credit bro. lolIt's a fact. If what BF posted here is to be taken literally, than @Alticus knows more about how this forum works than BF does.

What if cockeye isn't as sweet and innocent as we think, he could be in on it with Seamajor, he might even be the instigator of their murderous rampages. He'll get away with it and live the high life cuz he looks cute and dippy while Seamajor does the jail time . Lily, report Seamajor to the authorities, we'll all support you on this one

Yeah it was just recently brought to my attention that you can't keep a secret.

I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you.
Yeah, it ain't great. 20/60 corrected, in the good eye. Uncorrectable in the other eye. How's your vision though? Given that you spent the early part of your life with cataracts, odds are your vision isn't all that great even with the contacts.

Dolphins often get caught in the net with the tuna.
