Maybe not, but when I was a kid and went to Caucasian people's house for dinner...interestingly they never had it at the table. I saw mac and cheese, casserole's and meatloaf, that sort of thing.
All families are different. Best to not stereotype based on skin colour, Lily. I've had plenty of bland empanadas too. It's the luck of the draw.
Our family, growing up, moved a lot and lived with different cultures, ate their foods, and incorporated some of them.
You couldn't handle the level of heat I like.

Sydney is a lovely city. I wasn't out in the bush.
Besides grilled meat, I really didn't find compelling food that wasn't "foreign", Middle Eastern, Italian, etc.
