The president that received the most Latino votes ever was Bush 43. There is a whole lot of internalized racism among Latinos. However, Latinos of Mexican descent supported him the least of all the Latinos, with Cubans being the highest. He was upside down with Puerto Ricans, Mexican Americans and other smaller Latino populations.

Mexican-Americans, as other groups, were discriminated so badly they were made to feel ashamed of being Mexican that a whole generation of Latinos, Gen X and some boomers, don't even speak Spanish. Their parents didn't want them treated badly by whites, not that it worked.
