I was too lazy to walk to my garage to take a picture lol...but I got this last week and OMG.. It works like a gem. This a small mantis tiller 4 cycle that I highly recommend.. I've been using it in my flower beds and can't believe how well it turns the soil.. better than my large tiller. Happy with the purchase..

Very cool. When I grow up I want a tiller just like that one.

Sad times.. bought a brand new TV last one has moved on after an altercation with a fan , fuckin fan falls and hits my 80in and that's all it took.. RIP like owning an invalid or summat , so now it's a 75in from LG in stead of Samsung. Good thing is I started using insurance instead of associating insurance as a money grab and Geek Squad will have a rebate or summat whether it's physical damage or internal can be fixed or not.. pretty bad ass so will give em a call Monday

My BF came up to me today....eyes all sparkling, and presented this to me

It's a cookbook full of interesting horror themed recipes. Look how cool the inside text and pics are.

He wants us to make stuff out of this all fall. October and Halloween is our favorite time of year and he is planning cool and fun stuff to do together. God I love him.

Also I placed an order with Baskin Robin's for him today. Every year on his and his brothers birthday his mother would get a choo Choo train shaped ice cream cake for them. His flavor was always mint chocolate chip.

And his mother passed away last February so I'm getting his train cake for his birthday and surprising him with it. I could tell he was bummed about this tradition being over when he was talking about it (I came across old pictures and the cake was in one). So the man is getting his train ice cream cake from me.

But because he is the way he is....he has no idea I'm doing it for him....since Squishes birthday is the 22nd....he is getting the cake for her and my oldest (24th). It really makes me melt that he is now wanting to share his family traditions with us. His birthday is the 28th.

We are gonna have a shit ton of ice cream cake up in here this month lol.

I'm not a religious man and I don't believe in anything I can't detect with one of my senses, but that much being said part of me believes that ice cream cake is the work of the DEVIL. Especially the type that has chocolate AND vanilla with a chocolate crunch layer in between the two flavors.

BRB I'm headed to Carvel

I'm just addicted to that look in his eyes when he realizes how loved and appreciated he is.

If I can inspire that with an ice cream cake? Shit. I'm in lol.

I got his brother in on it lol.

That would never work for me. I'd start eating it and before you know it the entire evening would be over and I'd have a big belly ache and you'd be sitting there thinking "I guess it's just me and my toys again".

He is kinda sentimental. He never over eats either.

He is a big guy though. Not fat big. He is 6'7. Not fat but not skinny. He has MS so he is very health conscious....watched his mom struggle with diabetes and does not want to go through that.

There's basically two types of MS.. I've seen many of them over my tenure as an eye doctor. They come in year after year for their eye exams. Many of them experience sudden vision loss in one eye due to optic neuritis which thankfully is usually temporary but a sign of worse things to come. They're either relatively stable for 20 years, perhaps moving a bit slowly, even using a cane from time to time but basically getting around pretty much the same from year to year. Then the other type- they deteriorate- relatively slowly but steadily and each year they're in worse shape, they end up in wheelchairs, and then they stop coming back for their exams even though they wouldn't have been that old had they still been alive...

Hope your guy is the better of the two.

Are you an optometrist or an ophthalmologist? I had an episode of optic neuritis in my 20's. It resolved itself, saw several specialists and they speculated that MS could be one cause. They never got to the bottom of it. I've never had any other neurological symptoms since then.

optometrist- yeah not a true "medical doctor". That used to bother me, when I was asked that and then I'd get the sort of half eye roll/snide look because "he's not a real doctor". Truth be told in my 30 year career I did better than a lot of MDOs and had a lot of beneficial comanagement-referral relationships that worked out well for all concerned.

But I digress. Optic neuritis is, not surprisingly, caused by something neurological, and the number one cause is MS. If you haven't shown symptoms by now then it's unlikely you ever will, and there's a good chance no other cause will ever surface, sometimes you just never figure it out, and hey that's better than figuring it out because whatever it is rears its ugly head and causes bigger problems.

He is the better of the two. He was diagnosed 6 years ago....and has not had any new damage or lesions and has pretty much symptoms.

If it wasn't for his several meds I would forget he even has it.

I know how fast that can turn though. He is terrified of ending up in a wheel chair. I've assured him I'd never leave no matter what happens. I even told my ex if M(my guy) starts to decline I'm going to live with him.

Today he is healthy and able and I'm just gonna take that day by day and enjoy it fully. If it starts to go bad I'll be here for all of it.

That's very kind and generous and you're the type of girl to maintain that level of commitment. Not so sure I could do the same. If my lifelong partner was confined to a wheelchair I'd probably push her off a bridge and reactivate my dating profile, but hey that's just me.

I don't care either way. You have your expertise and it's often optometrists that first see developing conditions in their patients eyes and advise them to get further assessment from their MDs. That's important, people often go to their ODs and avoid their docs...

I was scared back then. I agree with you. Better a scare than an actual developing condition.

This man has been an important person in my life for almost 30 years. I wouldn't even know who I am without him.

He had consistently been there for me even when I didn't deserve it. He has always loved me.

I will never leave him. Like ever. I'd certainly never leave him alone suffering.

If he was just some guy I met on a dating profile I would probably feel differently. But he is way too important to me.

I think some women can be more sentimental about people they do or have loved than the average guy. I supported my ex through his entire pancreatic cancer ordeal, took him to chemo, brought over cooked meals...not that he had much of an appetite, spent time with him. People show up at the beginning and at the end. I hung out with him several times a week during the lonely part.

I was there when he drew his last breath along with our kids. Actually, it was my kids that initially brought me around. They felt so helpless and well, how could I not be there for my family...

Reminds me of a guy who graduated OD school a year behind me. He was young, fit, muscular. Came by my office on occasion to generate referrals for an MDO he did refractions and surgical pre-testing for. Saw him at a few meetings, had a couple of drinks with him here and there. One day, maybe 7 years ago he was driving his SUV at night in the rain, I don't think he was wearing a seatbelt but whatever. He loses control of his car, skids off the road, takes out a farmstand and hits a tree.

He's completely paralyzed except for maybe a few subtle facial expressions. He continued to show up at meetings here and there until a few years back. Don't even know if he's still alive. If I was him I wouldn't want to be. I would probably beg to be pushed off a bridge. But again, that's just me.

He lasted 17 months actually. His family and his children from his 1st marriage sucked, imo. No one invited him over for the holidays or birthdays. We did all that.

But hey, they showed up for the inheritance...smh
He was a fighter. Usually by the time pancreatic cancer is diagnosed there isn't much left to do but go shopping for caskets.

And yeah, that's what people do. He's dead? Let's take a look at that will, shall we?

Yep. He died in 2019, right before the pandemic. He died in August, 4 years next month.
