You had a steak?

Friday....

I replaced the BBQ burner earlier in the day.

We have had out BBQ for over 25 years and just replaced the burner recently for the first time.

It is a Napoleon BBQ.

Made in Canada.

Still in good shape.

The steak was a strip loin.

From our freezer.

We bought the whole loin last summer and had the steaks cut and froze a bunch of them.

These were the last two.

We are in the market for more steaks.

We will buy either strip loin or rib eye or t-bone.

This isn't a thread that belongs in this section. It's a forum game. Just because I mentioned steak doesn't make it a food thread.

Do people often go long periods without eating a steak that makes a thread like this worthwhile?

Ok I'll play. I had a steak last week. Now what happens?

Just trying to contribute to the place wizer.
Your efforts are commendable but this latest thread doesn't add much content.

You might want to consider specializing in the dramatic. You'll get way more air time.

I think I have only had 3 steaks so far this year...

A strip loin on Valentine's Day, a strip loin a few days ago, and a rib eye at a restaurant.

Meh, honestly prefer the cheaper cuts marinated for a day and cooked to perfection even then I’m not really a steak guy, prefer bbq fish or bbq chicken

Skirt or flank steak couple of minutes a side sliced against the grain viola and you get like 4 steaks worth for the price of one steak but you gotta be a grill master like me or Mexican or else guaranteed you’ll fuck it up

Blade steaks, if you don’t know how, are garbage .. but marinades such as that one you poasted and know how will be better then any t bone
Blade was my mom’s favourite that I’d make her, she’d call me and say X, you know what I want? LOL a blade steak

Not a steak guy obviously. I don't eat steak so much anymore because Greece doesn't do cows very well. They've got lamb and they've got goats but any other sort of red meat is imported.

I have not had any dish 3 times this year.

I like variety.
My wife of 3 years hasn't made the same thing twice. And it's all healthy Mediterranean diet for the most part.

She's gone less than a week and I'm already putting on the pounds.

Except for eggs in the morning, which usually contain broken shell more often than not, I don't cook anything for myself that doesn't have instructions on the box.

Uhmm about 2 weeks ago. Ribeye done just right on the son's BBQ, his wife made fried mushrooms onions, and mashed potatoes. She added grated cheese and I think saukeraut or something else. Wow impressive dinner all round.

I haven't had a steak in ages. Beef has gone retarded in price here. Reasonable quality steaks go for 50-70 bucks a kilo (AUD). I refuse to pay that. Rather eat lamb or roo.

That's ridiculous! Beef prices are crazy, especially since I source my beef locally.

What does kangaroo taste like?

Been a few years, its always been dining out in a pub sort of thing and haven't done that since lockdown.

I love ribeye rare but when it comes to cooking its herbs and spices which makes chicken way more versatile.

Ive had steak pie recently does that count.

A really lean version of venison... high iron content. You can taste it. It's got to be fast cooked to rare or medium rare, or slow cooked forever to make it tender.

Meh.... free red meat. Most people feed it to their pets and maybe eat it themselves once or twice a year. Same with introduced deer here. Sport hunters know we'll take either.... if we know their handling/field dressing skills.
