A logical and cost effective way to hugely decrease global green house gas output without doing too much harm to economies.

Honestly, this is how global green house gas (GHG) production should be tackled without truly damaging economies yet still getting a 50% reduction in GHG output from the power sector and a 20% total global reduction in GHG output. It is not the only change which would be needed but tackling just the worst 5% of polluting power plants in the world would result in a global 20% reduction in GHG output.

That is doable.

That should certainly be done. Along with lots of other things. We are in deep shit. Very deep.

To all of the "But, China!" screechers, note how the article says the US is worse than China on this one.

Just sayin'.

Idiot, not 1 in the top 10 are in the US. STFU and get to policing India and China. Notice India and China is in the top 10 of worst plants. Also, your brain dead lying hyper partisan ass conveniently leaves out that older coal fired powerplants in the US have had scrubbers installed and even when those are used during power spikes, they have to pay fines to the gub. In Springfield, I cant remember when I last saw the 2 old plants fire up. Its been at least a decade!!!

Can you read? Yes, it says the US does have more older higher polluting plants (all of which are already getting phased out btw) where as Communist China's plants tend to be newer and less polluting. That said, Communist China is now far and a way the largest producer of GHG, dunce.

The US is not free of guilt. The US needs to do its part instead of JUST pointing the finger at China. Dummkopf.

Thats not exactly true. The oldest and most highest polluting powerplant in Springfield hasnt been used in years, yet it still gets counted. I'll bet you the other 2 that have scrubbers on them havent been used in 5 years. The newest one that has about ZERO emissions AND has its CO2 captured and stored in underground tanks, is the only one I've ever seen steam coming from in many years. The one down in Kincade IL has scrubbers on it too. The biggest irony? The Sierra Club fought the construction of the super clean plant tooth and nail. That allowed the other plants to run for at least 10 more years as the primary power here. Thats lotus' people. Dumb cunt.

Wrong cunt. I ALREADY posted evidence that we have done our part. The US requires by law, that all diesel engines adhere to the strictest emissions laws. China? They dont have to. India? They dont have to. Look up Tier 4 Final emissions, asshole bitch cunt.
