BTW - you guys do know that the Keystone XL pipeline was only the fist leg of transporting oil (extracted by a highly polluting process) to China. It would not change a snap gasoline shortage here. That project is for the sole purpose of enriching ExxonMobil and it's CEOs.
Well fuk it. May as well not construct a new highway in a land locked state cause its just a single step. Fukin retarded ass clown.

Somehow, I don't think the Keystone pipeline project will ever be revived or get built.

There's too much opposition against the project in the US.
Plus many Americans are far too nationalistic to want to be dependent on a foreign power however friendly like Canada.
Even tho Canada would gladly supply America for eternity if it wanted.
And selling at well below the price of OPEC nations, many of which who hate the United States and are a source of terrorism such as Saudi Arabia.

Still...America promotes fracking, which is far worse on its environment than a pipeline.
Fracking not only poisons the ground, it also destabilizines the geological foundations of land close to residential areas.
This creates the potential for more sinkholes and earthquakes.
USA may not like the 'dirty oil' from Alberta, but it's not doing itself any favors through fracking.

USA is gonna pay a huge price environmentally in the coming decades.
Almost seems better of to allow the delapidation of the environment in another country which its own citizens don't care about.
The Alberta tarsands is a real shithole of an area not suitable for human habitation anyways.
-40 winters are not uncommon.

...but if Americans wanna wreck their own country to be 'self-sufficient' then so be it

Some Americans don't want Canada's tar sand pollution (richy rich enriching) earl because they
are foresighted and see beyond fossil fuel dependence which is where the future is.
No one expectorates the con likes of you to understand simple truths, Yusuf.

I mean ya know, Yusuf
Maybe Canada could figure out how to produce and ship directly to China w/o sucking ExxonMobil dick.

Too weak are yeh?

There are tons of jobs in Canadian oil fields for regular people just like there are tons of blue collar union workers who benefit from the construction as well as the day to day operations of pipelines. It is not uncommon to make $200,000 a year working on those projects with just a high school diploma.

Also, dozens upon dozens of pipeline projects across the cou try have been stated for decades by democrats. Some of them transporting refined gas to states that are currently experiencing shortages. Yes, having multiple pipelines so dozens of states aren't reliant upon a single piping would make things better. Yet, as always, idiot dems block them so they do share the blame.

I am for it, I do think by taking on environmental risks we should charge relatively high but still economically competitive rates but it still increases oil supply, creates jobs, pays taxes, and so is a good thing.

While fossil fuels may be a cause of greenhouse gas emissions, there's an issue that the environmentalists/green energy types never want to admit to - opverpopulation. This is never discussed in their meetings or conferences. And we're seen with the COVID Pandemic hitting India, how devastating the effects of overpoplu.ation can be.

Like...how come 50-60 years ago when the world population was 30-40% of what it is today, the earth's climate was doing just fine? And cars were spewing more pollution per vehicle back then. Industry was also a lot dirtier.

Cutting down on fossil fuels may help, but it's really just a bandaid solution for the root cause of the problem -too many fucking people. Too many being born.

We're on target to triple the world's population in less than.a century. With such reckless planning and population growth, don't you think something's gonna give?

I think if we have global warming, it's merely a symptom of overpopulation.

Unless they get that under control, the problem of climate change due to human acitivity and energy sources won't go away.

China now makes more GIGS that the entire first world (US, Canada, EU plus rest of western Europe, Japan, South Korea. Australia, and New Zealand) combined. India is rising as is Africa as well. We do need to decrease global emissions but all of the reductions made world wide in the last 30+ years all got replaced many times over by communist China.

Sure, China has done some good things but mostly not.

opverpopulation.
opverpopulaton, Yusuf?

Have you read and understood nothing I've written on the internets for the last 20 years?

Yes, cons have argued for non-birth control and 10 children families right along just as your Duggars, Hasids, and muslims do today.

Thanks for mentioning that, Yusuf.

USA has too many people for its land mass and resources to support as well.

You guys reached your peak around 220-250 million people 40-50 years ago.

I remember back then how the USA was the land of plenty.

But it isn't anymore.
You've reached your limit.

Places like California don't have enough water in their state to sustain itself.

The other issue you haven't addressed tho - is even if the USA wants to move towards alternative energy sources to power its New Economy, where is the energy gonna come from? How is the US gonna power all those electrics cars, airplanes, etc?

About the only reliable source of non-fossil fuels is hydro electric power because it never shuts ioff or reliant upon rare earth minerals.

And about the only place which provide it to the US with an abundance of this energy source is Canada.
Even the Germans signed a decl to power hydroen batteries from dam power. with Canada
That energy has to come from somewhere.
If itisn't oil, then it'll have to be dams.

But now envronmentalists are up in arms about the dams even tho they are located in some shithole in the Arctic where it goes down to -40 in the winter & is not suitable for human settlement.

Nuclear is very reliable and yet the wacky left hates it. They also hate hydro and want to pull down all the dams. In short, they are low IQ children who should be ignored.

There's another thing the Environmenalists don't acknowledge - is that it was President Obama who approved the construction of nuclear power plants in Georgia:

If I had a choice between 'dirty oil'l ad nuclear power, I'd choose the former.

There's a reason why there are no nuclear power plants in all of Western Canada - because there is so much oil and natural gas. Sure oil and the other pollute, but that damage can be reversed.

nuclear-power-plants-map-canada-technology-pin-icons-radioactive-contamination-signs-highly-detailed-vector-56626967.jpg

But if there's an accident at nuclear power plant, ihat damage is permanent. Also, nuclear power release toxic by products such as titrium which can get into lakes and the soil. The implications for people are increased rrates of cancer and other illnesses. There is also the increased risk of terrorism like that which occured in France where a jihaadi terrorist kikidnapped and killed the manger of a nucler power plant so he could obtain the codes so he could blow France and Europe to smiterines.

Fossil fuel almost passé. Solar cells, batteries are the future.
Battery powered cars won't work in cold climates unless you only drive a couple of blocks with no heat and no one will drive those when it's 30-40 below.

Unfortunate. The solar panels on my GFs roof charges her electric car, and charges batteries that eliminates the need for a back up generator. She can power the refrigerators and 2 lighting circuits for 16 hours. Any excess gets sold back to the power company. I call that win/win
