I dont know what's worse. The theatrics and manipulation.....or the fact this writer was on the ICU, during a SURGING Delta variant outbreak LISTENING in a patients room to a conversation being had with the doctor....and including it.
A MINOR, as well. And why is a MINOR, on the adult ICU? They have peds for that. And Admin....you CANT just take a stroll through a peds unit. As well as you cant just take a stroll through an ICU. Especailly with active infections.
Clearly you dont know how an ICU works. You have to be immediate family to even get on it. And if they were full at capacity, I have a VERY hard time believing they would allow a reporter access. She could either catch it or bring in something. You cannot just mosey on through an ICU. She would really have to set that up and if they allowed it, she would have a nurse or tech walk her through. She would NOT be able to just go listen through the door in a privacy protected conversation about a fucking MINORS PHI(private health info) and then go toss it in an article.
The ICU has 8 beds. Now you have to keep in mind that just because people may be admitted to ICU with severe covid.....all the other reasons people need ICU dont stop. So these are NOT all Covid patients. For all we know? There are 2 or 3 and the rest are there for other reasons. So saying the ICU is full doesnt mean it's all covid.
Most hospitals have areas to use for when ICU is full. It's not exactly a freak event to have an ICU get full and need extra beds. This can and does happen regardless of Covid. What they may do if they starting getting a lot of patients needing that high acuity with Covid, is they will open that extra area for JuST Covid patients so the patients in ICU for other issues are separate. Again they never just let people wonder any ICU unit. These are medically vulnerable SICK patients. People can take germs in there.....and hospitals dont like that.
And another thing.....hospitals dont "lose hope". Oh and hospitals are NOT all getting over run. Busy sure. Summer is the season of injuries. Traumas. You see a lot of broken limbs, gashes, construction and road work injury. Gun shots. Alcohol and drug poisoning and overdose. You see more child abuse in the summer. So just because some counties hospitals are seeing a lot of action right now does NOT mean it's all Covid.
We have to live with Covid now. Its gonna be on the rotation of all the shit people end up in the hospital for. There are people in the hospital right now from shit that started when they got the vaccine even.
And please.....doctors and hospitals absolutely did NOT get "caught by surprise" from delta. They all knew it was coming and that was going to show up. Likely long before YOU did.
There are so many misleading and dramatized things in this.

That shes not reporting news to you but rather painting a picture for you and she wants her readers to picture this dramatic scene with people dying and suffering with delta Covid to the point where its flooding out of the ICU and doctors are scrambling to deal with the delta variant (which is pretty much not very different from regular Covid) and they are "losing hope" and children are all on vents. This is called tragedy porn. It's not news.
You know you buy this and let it get you rattled because it fits in with what you want to believe.
