You do have a point. I suspect that by saturating the patty in the sauce makes it tasty, but without the sauce it likely tastes like warmed over roadkill.

I didn't have that strong of a reaction, i was more a, meh so that's it?"
Its like McD hardly did any market research or at least try to gauge public reaction. The only reason I suspect they keep putting it out every so often is because there are just enough yahoos that love that "sandwich".

What is it? I’ve never ordered one since I have had an aversion to meat since I was a kid. Is there actually ribs in it?

I suppose it's very possible. There's no accounting for why we like the things we do.
I've tried ribs that you buy from the grocery store and I didn't care for the few different ones I tried. One was Swiss Chalet. There was more fat on it than you would believe, not to mention tough.

We buy baby back from Costco and he debones them every other so they are super meaty. Makes it easier to pull the meat off too.

Swiss Chalet? They're usually top shelf.

I guess it all boils down to what one person likes I guess. For example, there are steaks that are clearly superior to other cuts in tenderness and flavor, but that doesn't mean that everyone will always like that cut. Sometimes people prefer the cheaper cut.

A Kansas City style steak is the best in the world, IMO. Medium rare with a baked potato is heavenly.

I prefer a ribeye to filet mignon. Not that rib eye is a cheap cut, but it is cheaper.

When it comes to actual BBQ, one place I found is truly a must eat.

Being in Charlotte, where BBQ is pretty much a religion, I can say with high confidence that I had the best ribs ever. I've been to Charlotte half a dozen times and eaten at Billy's on three occasions. Never was disappointed.
