Ever been to the ER? You know when go get your vitals and explain why you are there and get asked questions about your pain levels, what you are or drank, if you've been out of the country in the past two weeks? THAT is triage. That thing you go through BEFORE being taken back to a bed. Triage is to asses how urgent your condition is before you are admitted to the ER.

The ER is there to asses and treat medical emergencies. It is absolutely NOT just a triage unit. You get triaged before getting a bed in the ER.

After you get triage....your triage info is given to the nurse along with your bed number. Then she/he comes in to asses you and gives that to doctor. At this point tests will be ordered and meds will be given. You get a diagnosis, and you are either admitted for further care or discharged and told to follow up with your primary.

If the hospital was being flooded with Covid, the ER would be slammed. Most people are going to get very ill at HOME. And be told by their doctor to go directly to the ER. You go in through the ER. There would be long wait times as they are likely going to have suspected Covids separate from the rest of the emergencies in the ER. With ALL the nessesary precautions to avoid spreading it.

Now.....imagine thinking a reporter can enter an ICU, especailly during a SURGING covid outbreak. And listening into patients rooms to confidential care plan conversations. For a MINOR.

Just stop, you have no idea how any of this works and you want to believe your political narrative.

And FYI.....plenty of people with medical insurance NOT covered by the state use the ER.

A rash can be a sign of a serious medical emergency......or it could be nothing.

The only people that come to the ER over silly ass shit is new mothers of infants, drug seekers and addicts and homeless people and munchies who are munching.....and this really depends on the area. People with psych issues.

Triage before admitting patients to the ER let's staff get an idea of what they are dealing with and the ONLY people that know what kind of coverage that person has is registration. The doctors, nurses, EMTs, techs, aids.....have no clue and dont really care. You in the ER, you get treated. Its law.

During these Covid outbreaks? The hysterical fear mongering media actually got people fucking killed. The whole left narrative. You know how? Because you pricks terrified people of the virus to the point where older people AVOIDED THE HOSPITAL when they were having a legitimate medical emergency. People sat home and had heart attacks, aneurisms, et. Where they normally WOULD have gone to the ER but didnt for fear of catching Covid and dying on a vent. And that's just fucked up.

Kinda ignorant and insulting to call the ER a triage unit. That's like.....just the tiniest fraction of what is done in the ER.

Triage is just the entry process. Assessing how urgent your case is. Obviously a heart attack is going to get a higher priority than severe gash on the body. That's what triage does.

Its once you get back there and get tests and diagnosis, or get stabilized if you are unstable, then they decide whether you can be treated in the ER and sent home to see your doctor or if you need to be admitted. ER also has a trauma unit.

Shit when I go in for kidney stones? (Which i havent been in 2 years now, which is AWESOME) I never know if I'm staying or leaving. Typically when I get sent to the ER I end up admitted. But thats kidney stone disease and it sucks. It almost always means surgery the next day.

But even if my doctor tells me during an app to go directly to the hospital, I still need to go in through the ER and he tells the attending to admit me to hospital. They take care of all that for you but you still need to go in through the ER. They'll just do whatever screening my urologists wants, slam me with morphine and roll my poor busted ass on up.

Its definately NOT just a triage center lol. You dont get treated in triage. You just get assessed for urgency.
