I see poor little African kids being slave drove as diamond minors is not a concern of yours....unshockingly.
Were those diamonds at least lab grown? Because if not I'd have shoved it up his ass and just replaced him with a better guy by now.
Princess cut pre WW diamonds set in white gold because he knows I don’t like the way platinum tarnishes when wet…. we have a mutual local longtime friend and jeweler downtown. It matches the 1.5k earings I bought for myself 10 years ago that match the ring my ex husband bought me (4k princess cut invisible white gold setting) after 10 years. My engagement ring was destroyed when I knocked the diamond out of it. I have the setting and our bands for my children. The 10 year piece is in my safety deposit box going to my son along with my grandmothers pre WW 4.5k solitaire, which I have plans for the ginormous gold + diamond setting since it’s from the 80s…. But the diamond solitaire will go to my daughter once she accepts a proposal. I will suggest the proposal engagement ring solitaire is made into a necklace when that time comes.
My engagement ring from Alphonso is also pre WW and made by the same friend. The largest stone is 3 k because I didn’t want it larger than that. The two flanking diamonds are 2 k each. The band is another 3k of stones. 5 is my softball and lucky number, so he always incorporates that = 10. If you’re into numerology, it will make sense. It is in his safety deposit box until if/when we actually tie the knot.
Pre WE diamonds are better clarity and hold value more significantly. He doesn’t splurge a lot, but when he does… he goes big. We are both frugal in a lot of ways as well, but both have a deep appreciation and understanding of lineage and long term investment.
My mother’s 1.5k diamond solitaire engagement ring will go to my favorite grandchild… but I don’t have any of those yet. My dad couldn’t place it as being pre WW, but it was the 70s and he handpicked the diamond from a private jeweler and had it set. The clarity is impressive. I don’t want it appraised because it’s insured and in the safety deposit box.
Diamonds are forever…. And the value goes up anytime a Republican is in office. All hard currency does.
Only thugs, rappers and athletes bought into blood diamonds.
You watch too many movies *rolls eyes*
