Your America and the Allies were probably too exhausted to fight on any further, Lokmeer.
Anyways that was tried and done after the First World War when the allies tried to bring down the Reds by fighting alongside the White Russians. But despite a United allied effort they lost. And they came close to defeating the Reds but they were pushed back.
So like Germany the allies once tried against a weaker Russia but still failed.

However I think people should be able to own handguns for self defense...as long as its stored inside your home.
Actually I heard about some shootings near where you used to live. Some home invasions too where the homeowners were murdered.
So I think they should have a right to arm and defend themselves within their own homes. Particularly if they live in a bad area and the law enforcement is not readily available.
It's no longer like 40 or 50 years ago when the world was safer.

Yes, there was a Russian Civil War following World War I in which the allied powers tried to overthrow a Communist (Bolshevik) government but failed.
Britain, France, he USA, many European powers and even Canada had soliders in there trying to overthrow the Bolsheviks approximately 100 years ago or during your Great Grandfather's time:
they came close, had the Bolsheviks surrounded, but failed.
Hence the map of this struggle/war:
Point being, the allies actually did try to stop the emergence of communism in Russia.
Like Germany 20 years later, the allied invasion failed.
Given this reality, do you really think the allies could have overrun the Russians after World War II?
Especially when they were several times more powerful, united and their army was much larger, perhaps the strongest in the World after World War II?
