And what basis do you have for saying "probably didnt commit"? The evidence says he probably DID commit it. How often are you standing there while two police are shot dead with a weapon in your possession?
I'll agree that the sentence was ridiculous for the amount of evidence had.
But if this man gets released after 44 years and his health is bad what is going to become of him? Like I said does he have family willing to take him? It's not like he can retire. He spent 44 years in prison.
Imagine being in a place for 44 years and than having to leave with nothing. You are seeing this as "omg this guy is in prison and that sucks". But Admin.....this has been his life for 44 years. Unless there is some program where he can be slowly eased out and receive medical care and counseling and someone can make sure this man has food and shelter it would be insanely cruel to just pull him out of the "home" he has had for 44 years.
