Also, because we bought a left over 2019 in late 2020 we got it for $20k when the sticker price was $26,800 plus delivery fee. Last summer they called me back asking if they could pay me $26,000 for my two year old car because there were shortages of new cars. I said know but thought it was weird that a two year old car is now worth more than when I bought it.

BTW the mileage just passed 19,000 on it so it is practically just broken in.

The mortgage for our house that we bought in 2002 is basically a big line of credit. And we were totally debt-free before moving here.

So I have not had a car loan in over 20 years. And we have been on the plus side (no debt) for several years now. Did not have to go negative when we wrote a cheque for the Grand Cherokee.

But I might have to dip into the negative when (if?) I buy the C8. I just checked and it is currently 3.05% I do not want to withdraw too much from my registered savings accounts and slip myself into too high a tax bracket.
